Indian Ocean Crossing


Another flat water motor boat ride durring the period of transition from trade wind season to monsoon season.


Heading out into the Andaman Sea we had a bit of light north west wind at times, but it did not last long.

Passing south of the Nicobar islands the wind went extremely light from the east, and there was a half knot current against us.

Sunset orb hangs low over small ocean ripples, the wind can fairly well turn off in the North Indian Ocean in March.

The motor purred along for a week straight at 2000RPM, shuting down only for an oil change.

We painted a flag for the Maldives, but being quite low on fuel we headed into Galle on Sri Lanka.
